Dear Fresh Friday friends,

Last weekend the Nicholson Clan had a world clan meeting on the Isle of Skye where the traditional clan grounds are. In reflection of the Clan Gathering I am making a Scottish menu this week.

The main course is a “meal in a bowl,” filled with simmered lamb shank, vegetables, herbs and barley, served with baked bread for dunking. This is followed by a traditional dessert called Tipsy Laird, a traditional Scottish trifle with raspberries, custard, sponge and whipped cream, and a “little splash of the good stuff”.
